How incident management helps

Incident management is the record of disruptions. Impact says how widely an incident affects the organisation, services, or data. Urgency says how quickly a response is needed. Priority is the ranking those two produce, and it can be overridden.

What you can see

The register holds the title, the service affected, the owner, impact, urgency, priority, status, whether it is major, the description, and the resolution notes. It also records who reported it and when.

The overview counts incidents on the register, how many are open, how many are major, and how many are closed. Open means the status is not closed and not resolved. Major is the incidents marked as major.

Reporting can be turned on for Service Management and for the customer portal, using the intake form you choose. Impacts, urgencies, priorities, and statuses are lists you define. The priority matrix maps each impact and urgency pair to a priority.

When you need to change it

The incident register, the incident overview, and incident configuration describe the record and the lists.
