How to Upload Documents in ISMSVision

This guide walks through adding a new document to your organisation's library from the ISMSVision app. You need the document_management:upload_documents permission (or equivalent role assignment).

Before you start

  • Navigate to Document library (typically under your app navigation as Documents).
  • Confirm your subscription includes document storage; the library shows usage and may block uploads when the quota is full—add capacity in Subscription management if needed.

Step 1: Open the upload dialog

On the document library page, click Upload document in the toolbar. A modal opens so you can attach one file and enter metadata in one pass.

Step 2: Choose your file

Select the file from your device. The title usually defaults from the filename; adjust it so the library shows a clear, policy-friendly name (for example “Information Security Policy” rather than “policy_v12_final.pdf”).

Step 3: Set version and classification

  • Version: Use semantic versioning (for example 1.0.0) consistent with your ISMS numbering scheme.
  • Document type & status: Pick values configured for your tenant (for example draft vs published) so reporting and filters stay accurate.
  • Managed by: Assign an owner accountable for the record.
  • Last reviewed / Next review: Capture your review cycle for ISO 27001 clause A.5 and documented information expectations.

Step 4: Optional custom attributes

If your administrator defined custom fields (classification, scope, related standard, etc.), complete them here so search and exports stay meaningful.

Step 5: Submit

Save the upload. The new row appears in the table with version, status, size, and dates. If the API returns an error (for example quota or validation), read the message, fix the issue, and retry.
