A run is not saved without an effectiveness rating and a next review date. The usual ratings are Effective, Partially effective, and Ineffective. A test with no run stays Not tested.
What evidence does to the rating
Archived evidence, and evidence replaced by a newer run, is left out of that check. The ratings themselves are maintained in Compliance settings, on the Effectiveness tab.
- No current evidence caps the result at Ineffective.
- Evidence that has all expired also caps it at Ineffective.
- Some evidence expired caps it at Partially effective.
- Evidence that is all in date allows Effective.
The control as a whole
The control is Effective only when every test’s latest run is Effective and still in date. One overdue or weaker test holds the control down. See the dates on the tests list.
